I love how lefties looked at late night "comedy" talkshows and thought "Yes, this is the format we must emulate…"

An ideological downstream so recursive and self-fellating that even though neolibs are a boogeyman to the woker, socialister left, they feel the need to copy their epic medium (stand-up comedy coming in second place) for proselytizing bullshit with bows and ribbons. The medium is the message. :tetrakarn:

Is this :outy:BIZNASTY:outy: on last thread? I forget, did you reboot its brain or not?

Anyway, it's wrong. My favorite is Shifting Sand Lands. :tetrakarn: Never ever figured out that there was a boss to fight though.

Lethal Lava Land is also up there. I think surfing on shells is really fun. That's a big reason for both being so high.

Wet-Dry World is certainly charming too. Definitely one of the less polarizing later stages. I remember feeling so cerebral and engaged when I played through it as a babby. :sip:

>it's funny to me that you laugh at the idea that homestuck or undertale might be auteurial works ("fobby/Hu¢¢ie got help from some people!!! not all the ideas were his!!!") but somehow eva counts as one with its dozens of staff - who were not just grunt animators but designers, directors, and scriptwriters who undeniably shaped the show creatively - because "uhh well anno was in charge so basically they were just taking orders"
They're on different pedigrees, for one.

Mostly, I hate how overstated Fobby and Hu¢¢ie's work ethic is. My main attack on them is less that they're not true auteurs but that they had no real vision and filled it in with shit from other people. This is more true with Homestuck than Undertale. I think Fobby had things, they just weren't very original or funny things.

>Doesn't care about what's said about Undertale award

>Starts on an incredibly sloppy, cheesy, and noisy Tales From The Crypt metal cover
I'm not sure whether to detract or add points for that.

We're spasming with the synths here but in a deliberately over-the-top manner. I mean, all the elements are here for "a standard debut" but they're trying so hard, bless their hearts. This is all extremely extra. And what do I hear now? Is that SMURFING electronica? Sure, why not? We also get a nice sample of SYNTH HELL but only a brief sip. I know debut albums can be very "everything and the kitchen sink" but they're usually tinged too heavily with "these are the bands we like" and this goes above and beyond that. What I love about this album is the tempo (which is mostly unrelenting) and under that, the energy, even when the songs slow down they still feel intense. There are very few hiccups on this album. SMURF everyone, I think this is fun as Hell. This isn't what I want out of gothic black metal but it is what I want out of metal. It gives me strength. (I know now to put the Tales From The Crypt cover as a positive) Also, there's still competent compositions on here, it's quite possibly the best thing an "epic gothic black metal" release could sound like; I feel like you can't burn the cheese off that kind of thing; you can only embrace it.

CHARTED for the SMURF of it. :tetrakarn:
