Sorcerer's Stone: Almost the exact same thing as the Philosopher's Stone. Serves as an odd follow up. The key difference is that the Sorcerer's Stone is an artifact that an ancient wizard sealed his spirit into. At some point, I think it would be revealed to be an alternate timeline. It's similar to normal Harry Potter in the way that Toei Yu-Gi-Oh is similar to the Duel Monsters anime. Harry is noticeably different as a character and the tone is different as well.
Chamber of Secrets: Harry and friends find a forbidden chamber where ancient secrets regarding an old legend are found.
Prisoner of Azkaban: Harry and friends sneak out of school on an adventure to visit an ancient wizard prison like Alcatraz and encounter someone who was still locked up there. It explores a moral dilemma of freeing prisoners without knowing their crimes. They end up unknowingly releasing a great evil.
Goblet of Fire: Harry and friends find an ancient artifact called the Goblet of Fire. No idea what it would have been used for. Can't really think of much for this one.
Order of the Phoenix: Harry gets introduced to a secret society that has existed for eons and has been watching him carefully as he is the hero of legend. All is not right with the Order though, and their intentions may not be what they appear.
Half-Blood Prince: Harry and friends assist a fantasy race prince recover a treasure that belonged to his family. Over the course of the story, it is revealed that he is half-human as well as an illegitimate son. It explores the morality of tradition preventing someone as earnest as him from becoming a genuine prince despite wanting to find the treasure and proving himself to his people.
Deathly Hallows: The end of the end. Harry and his friends travel to the realm of death itself to save the wizarding world from the evil corruption that's leaking from this other world.

the thing is, it's not even just losing familiarity with my own code; I feel like that's not a big problem. a bigger concern would be all the complex architecture I have mapped out in my mind but not implemented yet, which is full of problems that still need to be solved anyway. but I write down loads of it, so in theory the most important stuff should be documented. honestly, it probably IS totally doable for me to start moving again, given a couple days of focus - but all the decisions and tradeoffs and potential issues were already overwhelming before, and I know they'll only get worse for a good long while before they start getting better.
