wwalk on eggshells or else you risk upsetting them and you're left in a situation where you've done harm without actually meaning to. that's not even going into the lack of consistency with this issue, which is another topic in and of itself. this is what i mean by self-0bsessed idpol (identity politics), the venn diagram between the people who engage in that and slur discourse is practically a circle. again, i should reiterate that i have no problem with people telling a story that deals with the morality of offensive language, i just think this message fails completely due to inheriting the culture, politics, and shortcomings of the homestuck fandom.
i imagine you are a person that wishes to respect other's boundaries and not make anyone uncomfortable. that's fine, i behave the same way. but the way this issue reinforces sensitive behavior is exhausting and i really hate having to maneuver around it, or when people try to maneuver around
