I still think track 8, "Human, All Too FUARKing Human" is a bit of a stinker despite the great name) and has too thrashy of riffs in some places for the certain kind of sound it should be going for. That, I think holds it back from reaching prestigious chart-status. Also, it's not particularly interesting even if it is more competent than most industrial metal or metalcore-y stuff so that's another reason for not getting CHARTED.
I know this is like, a gay thing to say about metal because you MVST listen to metal at high volumes but even then, I feel like a lot of the cooler musical flourishes are just too low in the (noisy but not especially when considering relative standards) mix.

Next track is better-ish; though it feels a bit lifeless. Again, mixing too low… And the third is back with the thrash riffs, come on now (and power metal vocals again)
I keep seeing comments about how chaotic and noisy this band is, Yes, it is chaotic (grindcorey) and nosiy but it is nowhere the most chaotic or noisy band I've ever heard- what makes this band distinct is that it's a weird genre mish-mash of all different types of metal. It's THAT kind of chaotic, not compositionally chaotic (well, it is but it's not the most chaotic of that sort out there) There's a lot to like but unfortunately, there are a lot of metal types that I strongly DON'T like and they can taint otherwise great songs.
Despite the power metal ballad chorus of the third, it's my favorite so far (not sure why this one in particular is turning into a song-by-song analysis like something I'd do for something I specifically don't like. This is something skimming just barely by being something I love in a lot of ways, most small, some big.) Surely, they can't taint this fourth song, right? I feel like the goregrind pig noises could have been used better melodically. #justmetalthings Overall, this fourth song doesn't have much of things I dislike in metal (oops, heard a barely distorted guitar, take that back), I just think it's really limp-sounding and kind of bad compositionally.
Fifth song. Best so far. Feels like the nicest mix of genres and musical elements. Eh, kind of a weak transition into this melodic section and it goes on for ever so slightly too long. I feel like a lot of these songs would be exponentially improved if just edited slightly. Cold Viking-ish metal next- power metal vocals… Come on… I'm hating this one. Seven is solid but I feel it's also lacking energy-wise. Power metal vocals… Eight feels too metal-corey…
Nine has a strong riff. Best on the album. Still feels metal-corey in its breakdowns which is not good, hearing some power metal power chords which obviously takes it down a couple pegs. 5 > 3 > 9 >7 > the rest, I think. 10 started out great but the breakneck transition just didn't fit it, the second one was fine but then when it returns there's a big gap in the noisewall. It just sounds so awkward and stilted. And it's power metal-y, again. I'm really holding out for the next album because this is coming so close to being something I could really enjoy and just falling short. Not sure why this is reviewed so glowingly, I feel like it's a really niche subfandom.

QUICK MCU SPECULATION TIME: because they did this shit, I know they're going to make alternate universe Taskmaster show up and eventually join the Thunderbolts because they've been doing alternate universe shit for a while and for a reason- to make up for all the characters they've butchered. I assumed "Bob" was "Bob from Hydra" (I didn't see the Deadpool movies. I'm pretty sure he's not in those but I refuse to fact-check this.) He wasn't. I didn't know Sentry's name was Robert. Mostly because I don't give a FUARK about Sentry. (2)

This is why the symbiote with Spiderman was cool- it didn't work on Peter because his adrenaline made him do bad shit but meatheads like Eddie or Flash can be more productive with that. Whatever. QUICK MCU SPECULATION TIME: I was wrong about Sentry's origins (thought he was power cosmic but instead he was a super experiment like in the movie but the virus' origins, my paint point of contention, have different origins) but there's still a minor difference. Oops.

I think Marvel is leaning really hard into this intrigue/spy/super serum stuff because they're going to try to make H.Y.D.R.A relevant again or bring in A.I.M but I don't know what villains they'd pull out because they splurged Red Skull. Great FUARKing starting track. All of the sludgy tracks are pretty alright but don't really pass mediocre beyond the first track maybe the last. Vocals are mixed slightly too low on the sludgy songs on this album too. Just can't win with this album.
