spoilered for the anon who doesn't want to hear about NTR anymore:
I keep turning these ideas over in my head and I think part of it has to do with the connection between the perspective of the audience and of the author. in a sad scene in a standard drama, the author writes it knowing it is sad, maybe even with reluctance! when they survey the work, they feel the same pit-in-the-stomach feeling, that grief for the people on the screen. the audience and the author share this emotional understanding.in an NTR work, the author may still experience these feelings, but I suspect to a lesser degree, because their focus is on a different emotional response, which is the excitement, the erotic thrill of sexual betrayal. it is hard not to experience friction with NTR content if you don't share this unique emotional response, because the work isn't made for people like me - its communication breaks down. I may understand the craft thematically or analytically, but I lack the capacity (at least as of yet) to understand it emotionally and sensually in the way that the author felt, in the way that shaped their pen. No character in Homestuck is made for their end goal because the writing is bad and improvised to shit. They are made for what you immediately see and then just kind of float along into radically different portrayals.
>>67386>>67390>>67391Shone-tier shit writing in my "high concept" "very complex" webcomic? It's more likely than you think.
The obvious questions should follow:
1) How did HIC know about fucking any of this
2) Why didn't Aranea foresee HIC knowing and getting the kids and her to fight before taking the ring and fighting whoever won after that
3) How did the events of VRISKAAAAAAAAAAAAgram necessarily automatically prevent the elements in Game Over such as Jane being mind-controlled or ever so slightly less reasonably,
GREEN being mindcontrolled
I'm not rewatching Vriskagram. I'm assuming there isn't an satisfactory answer in that Vriska either randomly has clandestine knowledge about HIC or it's not directly addressed.
Actually, I remember that being the real reason why
GREEN was permaforced to sleep so v. good writing there. Because Vriska knew that about HIC- somehow, even though none of the other trolls brought it up. Within reason, why can't HIC directly mindcontrol people with her powers? Moreover, why the fuck can't she just overwhelm Vriska's powers of making
GREEN and make her wake up since she's so Uberpowerful and also has clandestine knowledge, for some reason. This becomes especially fucking stupid when you consider GCATavros. Yeah, great foresight there, but of course it works because it's an idiot plot.
A lot of these things would be solved if the person who stole the ring was somehow who had direct connection to Lord English (Damara, Kurloz) so we could presume they were in connection with HIC and that it was a doublecross to secure the ring- I don't even particularly remember why HIC cares for the ring beyond just broad Machievellianism since she wants the game to succeed but then just goes and murders a bunch of people who aren't in her direct control. So another layer of stupid.
Instead, we have to assume that Gamzee, while not mind-controlled (which is like- when, over what course of time) made Lord English/HIC aware and then there was a double cross. I cannot stress enough how using Aranea to facilitate this already contrived scenario was a terrible idea.
Moreover, I don't really understand why Aranea even cares about the ring in the sense of why "I need the ring for myself to keep me alive." We have seen God-Tier user ghosts use their powers just in being in proximity to the Alpha Timeline. You can lampshade it all you want but we all remember God Tier ghost Feferi healing WV. I'm not sure why she didn't just make Gamzee jump into lava with the ring because she knows of Gamzee's loyalty to Lord English (required for the Alpha Timeline) and Calliope needing to live via the ring (also required.)
The only explanation is that it's Aranea being childish in her egotrip. Which is sure, whatever, fine. It feels good to be alive, to matter (meta! META!) But yes, of course, this is barely set-up and hardly ties in neatly to her plan of "KILL LITERALLY EVERYONE" (I could go into the vagueness of the Alpha Timeline and its constraints- like does there need to be one living person for it to not fade away or get glitchdusted- just make Jake sleep chained to a radiator.) More egregiously than this not being set-up is that there were, in typical Hu¢¢ie fashion, a very easy "in" for a set-up. Vriska and Meenah both have their run-ins with the ring and yet that tension is barely played with- moreover how that tension affects Aranea isn't addressed. A couple panels of meaning feeling jealous, oh, that's what we get. Not her feeling embittered by their friendship and weighing how they feel about life- Vriska wants back in, Meenah feels destined. Just vague Scratch Ancestor worship. All so terrible.

You're telling me that she wouldn't know of The Condesce's general plan? Didn't she also tell Meenah about her using the game to revive her race in that one log with Jake that that panel is from? Anyway, suspending disbelief too far. Characters only know or don't know things when it's convenient.
>Ghosts cannot leave the dream 8u88les, ghost Feferi was a8le to do that 8ecause WV and every8ody else were phisically there with her, the meteor entered 8u88le she was in.Yes, but why would Aranea need to be out of her bubble for her incredibly nebulous, abstract plan of "merging timelines" to work? Of all things to require a physical locality to function, "merging timelines" doesn't seem to be one of them.
Also, again, we get into the particularity of how an Alpha Timeline is identified such as again, chaining Jake to a radiator inside a dream bubble- if Jake was the only person left alive, does that mean it's the Alpha Timeline inside a dreambubble?
It's all so fucking stupid.

>As I said, she had no access to the post-scratch human universe, she casually mentions something a8out the Horrorterrors not letting her, 8ut I don't 8elieve it's further ela8or8ed on.And surely, Aranea would have never ever talked to a single dead Void player or like, a dead Jane or Dirk. >Her plan was to stop the session from cre8ing the universe Cali8orn would 8e 8orn in and then heal the timeline to such a point that it would take over as the new alpha timeline.I have boiled that down to "merging timelines."
>She a8solutely needed to 8e there in person to use her Sylph powers 8ecause as I said, you can't do much while inside the 8u88les unless the people you wanna influence are right there with youAgain, what defines where a "a session" (a non-corporeal thing) is because it's sure as fuck not the planets because the Furthest Ring seems to count- FOR SOME REASON. I will reassert this- if everyone else was dead and she dragged Jake somewhere into a dreambubble, would that be "the session is in a dreambubble so she can heal the timeline" The answer: who fucking knows. The point is that I'm posing a question with no real answer to point at how ill-conceived literally all of this is.
>The only times we see ghosts interact with the session, such as Aranea waking Dirk up or the mind-controlled Damaras assisting Aranea during GAME OVER, is when they are using regular troll powers, which we already saw could 8e used from very long distances as seen with Vriska giving GREEN narcolepsy."But why"
Let me point to another glaring issue with classpectism which is that Mythological Roles tend to manifest in metaphorical or literal ways not directly related to the powers actually given by mythological roles. Would a Thief of Mind with particularly strong mindcontrol not be able to use their mindcontrol across sessions because it, abstractly, correlates to their mythological role? This is another rhetorical question.
The only reason why we're assuming this is true is because the story would buckle under even more pressure if we didn't assume it was true. (But why couldn't have infinite Araneas mindcontrolled infinite other trolls for the ghost army? Something something… Alpha timeline. What about infinite doomed timeline Aradiabots again?) And all of the evidence of classpect powers working is when they're directly involved.
Wouldn't it be smart to take something like the Golden Ship and just have everyone on it at all times and then have some doomed timeline God Tier Aranea or Jake or Tavros do their ludicrous antics to affect the session? No, that's not an option? Because…?
>Fair enough. We'll have to agree to disagree here. You just don't want your wife tainted with the stench of bullshit. Unfortunately, she's in Homestuck.
