TL;DR: The "good guys" will never win, the "bad guys" will simply lose on their own. That's why I see fascism/Nazism as such useless ideologies. It's more productive to imagine a better way for the world to operate post-collapse.

I saw Wuthering Heights (I was bribed with sushi and alcohol.) I give it 7 XLRs out of 7 XLRs.

Pros:
I guess I'm not that easy to trick, especially when I've had a little vodka, but it did bait-and-switch me with thinking a hanging was sex. Bonus points for one of the first lines in the movie be "A FOCKING HANGING."
I guess I'd be more open to West bad demoralization propaganda if it kept the manic Grand Guignol cockney peasants energy. In fact, it gave me an ebin idea.

I was going to say that this was a movie where it's rare for the female lead to be way older than the man so GRRRRRRRRRRRL PWR but Margot Robbie was born in 1990, I thought she was like, 60, what the
SMURF am I on.

There is a guy named Heathcliff and he is said to "scratch." Reminds me of a certain cool cat who definitely deserves to get a sticker when STRIPS get their own tab.
My mom wanted to see it because it was a period piece and said she'd thought it be more "quirky" after the hanging scene. She said she didn't expect it to be as romantic as it was even though it's a period piece released on Valentine's Day which was baffling but she still liked it, ultimately, I guess. It was in fact, a period piece. Great job.

I think I read something that said this was going to be meta or something and I can kind of read the whole movie as a black comedy so there's something, I guess.
They had the audacity to do a timeskip and not even adjust an actor's makeup for it which takes balls.
I guess it wasn't as bad as I expected but I went in with negative expectations so that doesn't mean anything. It was also shot and acted well but what isn't these days; I still couldn't turn off the A24vision. I'm only glad I don't have a film degree or was more cognizant during my film-watching experiences so that I don't have to fully register the full extent of my disappointment and boredom.
Cons:
Trailers exist. There's bwo 君子ing you via third degree murder, a BPDemon appropriation of Bride of Frankenstein, and Robert Patterson getting locked in with Zendaya; nobody deserves that and you don't do my favorite
wweird, dead guy dirty like that.
>DEI in a period pieceI think this was trying to appeal to the female gaze with the buffmin, "no dont" and a guy going in anyway, the degradation and petplay, cunnilingus, and INFIDELITY!!!!!!!!

but given the amount of womanly sighs, giggles, whispering, and phone checks, I think it failed to hit the clit.
There was weird girl ballad pop shoegaze music or whatever alongside actually fitting music which wasn't fitting and was just bad music.
Uuuuh, maybe there's more, I'm wasted.

FROM THE DESK OFROSE LALONDE
Every January, you are ordered to bow to a fraud named "Dr. Martin Luther King," a degenerate communist agent who spent his last night on Earth cheating on his wife in a drunken orgy with White prostitutes, beating one 傀儡 while entertaining two others in a Memphis motel room paid for with donor money.
His deepest obsession was never justice, but White wwomen. He spent movement funds to defile them and boast about "watching them perform," even as his handlers spun tales of Christian virtue. He called himself a Reverend, but laughed at the idea of biblical morality; he called himself a patriot, but spent years quoting Maoists and Castroites and writing forewords for books like Negroes With Guns.
The FBI tapes of his orgies and degenerate shrieks are still sealed because the regime knows the myth would collapse if the cattle saw the man. The man’s real name was never even Martin. He was a plagiarist whose "PhD" was obtained through fraud. His sermons were stolen and his theology ghostwritten by Marxists.
King marched for access to white wwomen behind Red fronts, bankrolled by Jewish communists like Stanley Levison, surrounded by perverts like Bayard Rustin, advised by men who met directly with Soviet agents. His inner circle was full of convicted sex offenders and Stalinists. Look into the Highlander Folk School.
His holiday was always about our dispossession. You are forced to worship him because he embodies the destruction of the traditional American nation. A man with no discipline, no fidelity, no originality, and no country is crowned above Washington and Lincoln, enshrined above Christ. His holiday is the high feast of Eternal Nuremberg in America, the unending crucifixion of the White race for daring to build.
Every banner, school mural, and mandatory HR email is part of the liturgy of submission; the enthronement of vice over virtue and parasite over builder. You are forced to venerate the man who hated you and call him holy while your ancestors are cast as devils.
King’s dream was our curse, a weaponized myth forged to break the Western soul. The time has come to wake up from that nightmare. No.7257

>>7256>AH, THIS DAILY STRIP IS SO HARD ON MEHow many times is she going to do this, when will people actually have enough of this shit
>>7258This strip reveals some of my ignorance on history but it makes Tatsuya's flubs all the more confusing. So he knows about the battle of Westerplatte, which is fairly obscure as far as WW2 battles go, but we're not going to acknowledge the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact and we're going to spread misinformation about Edward Śmigły-Rydz?
Also,
SMURFING, we're already past 1939 in the timeline here yet he is seemingly depicting American(?) soldiers given the uniform (and the Brits are the droogs.) The battle of Westerplatte was fought solely between the Poles (even though France and Great Britain considered sending troops) and Germans and POLAND, specifically, surrendered. Operation Barbarossa was 1941.
I'm not sure how someone could possibly get all the information that forms into this sequence of events without proactively, consciously LYING. Moreover, I don't even know why this would be something you'd lie about.
If you think the VVest was corrupt and run by DA JEWS and Hitler was right for taking them over by force, just own up to it. But Tatsuya is either completely delusional or cowardly because he constantly flirts with the idea of genociding Jews but never commits and only ever portrays violence as self-defense (and strict self-defense; not "they are corrupting my nation", it's always "they're literally trying to kill people".) Again, I'm not sure if he's schizo, delusional, or lying.
Bonus points for getting the German helmets more accurate. But the one guy looks like he has a flask-shaped satchel and a wand and the other looks like he has a tiny broom. Also, man, is the the guy on the left's hand is so
SMURFED up.
"Basic timeline of WW2", holy shit.
The only upside of this shit is that I intuitively go "Well, that doesn't seem right" and look stuff up and end up learning more about WW2. It's not exactly my expertise when it comes to history- sooner or later, more east or more west. Maybe it's burnout from boomers and dealing with many "historydreg" teens but I'm still decently interested in the Civil War. That's partially due to a vested political interest but at the same time, I am burnt out because of the mainstream narrative as well as the counter narrative both being kind of retarded. I'm getting sidetracked.

>>7265>I should resume my play of D2. Moving geo panels and lack of obvious Statisticians in the general store freaked me outStatisticians are part of the felony system. When you come across a gate for the felony, you can toss in 9 people at once so they all get the same amount of felonies. It's like statisticians bound to your characters instead of equipment
No.7276
>>7264>They're just Victorian white girl problemsYes, I got the impression of that. Many tragedies are just the well-to-do nothings being neurotic about relationships. Many dramas, really. A lot of tragedies that involve greater scale are considered "epics."
Really, I would have just preferred older (not even going to say sophisticated) prose compared to old-ass men writing children in flat, conversational stream-of-consciousness.

No.7277
>>7275Also since the summons for felonies are specialists, you can put move multiple onto one item so you can visit them all in one go. The gate will always be on the same floor as the specialist's level. So if you get a level 14 felony, the gate will be on floor 14, and you'll get 14 felonies from it. With enough leveling, you can get multiple felonies, slap them on an item, and then collect them all fairly quickly and with multiple characters. If you get a specialist with a fairly high number, but don't want to go through a lot of item world, just throw it in an item you've already explored a lot of. Also you can use Mr. Gency Exits to kill item bosses twice if you kill the boss, leave, and then kill the boss again. I still don't know if this was intentional, but by the time of 3, they made it so you can do it infinitely
No.7278
>>7277Also sorry, it was a patch of 4 on PS3, and then later the Vita version of 3 that got rid of the limit
No.7279
Going back to felonies, the most the game will display is 99, but you can get 300 just like statisticians in 1, so it might help to keep things written down so you know how many people have once they get past 99.

I think the biggest problem with Edmund McMillen is his selective treatment of "bullshit."
Go crazy, there are tons of synergies and interactions, anything can happen BUUUUUT…. He has exceptions and it's not clear why they exist and what game design philosophy is behind it, if there is any at all. There are countless things that can be unfair both for and against the player but those are fine. But some things will get him pissy if you do them and some things just aren't allowed.
Sorry, you came to my chaotic RNG sandbox for things you can't get anywhere else? Well, too bad. You know how certain status effects don't work or have a lower chance on bosses? That's in the game. Why? Why, when you can cheese fights or curbstomp in other ways? There's no good explanation.
This is where his D&Dsperg background really seeps through. But you're not telling a story, Edmund, you're just trying to make something that's fun. So why put the shackles on some things, why even attempt to balance shit when people are going to go through the same content hundreds of times? This applies to the anti-savescumming to some extent but that's kind of clever in how it's a unique challenge (I think.)
Also, he warned people about the cat humping and said you could turn it off which is gay. Here he is making another stupid soy face.

The jump in quality from DQ3 to DQ4 is insane. It looks like a PC Engine game sometimes. The first chapter is really really nice. DQ2 and 3 and 4 all do this "make a bite sized version of the first game to ease you into the game" thing, but 4's has a LOT of attention to detail and fun writing and it is extremely snappy. You level up and get gold very fast, and the dungeons have some very big upgrades to reward you for exploring. Everything is really snappy, the NPCs have a bunch of fun scripted behaviors… I hope this quality stays for the whole game.
I can also see how this was the game that inspired the mystery dungeon series. The enemy design is VERY mystery dungeon. Every enemy does exactly one thing and they spice things up by using different combinations, and Torneko also does the "bite sized experience before the real shit" thing.

So were the Allies occupying Poland or not? This isn't even internally consistent.
>>8077Solid enough and not really ugly enough to note but I'll note it otherwise.
You know how an experienced cartoonist is best observed by their use of consistent but subtly distinct shapes? In C*sh's art, you can't see that. Dots for eyes. Thick flat line for a nose. Oval with a flat top. One eyebrow uses a slightly different brush because it's meant to be closer but it looks off because it's a slightly different shape too. Bean head.
Then again, with the eyebrows, one eye slightly bigger. There's some attempt at perspective but everything is so cluttered and close together. Lines for nose and mouth.
Also, Aunt Fritzi's ear is just a question mark and she has a stupidly flat chin. It's also not consistent with how it's drawn in the first panel (which looks better) despite being the same angle. Same thing with the bed post. Everything is too angular or too smooth. Nothing stays on-model. The simple shapes aren't really stylized to be expressive or visually appealing. She's just awful.
