Especially with those you don't love. Yes, there are human sex pheromones but information about them is vague and it seems unlikely they have much influence.
I guess it's better that they don't breed and I don't want to go "Durhurr Idiocracy" but who are the people having children then? A bunch of hormonal idiots, tribal gigafamilies, and people who want a replacement for their pets? It's some kind of bottleneck, not for intelligence, I think it runs deeper than that. I don't want to be harsh but that's just the kind of standard I hold.

Drawing is something you don't really forget. A cartoonist, in particular, shouldn't really degrade because it's repetition, repetition, repetition. (Doubly so if you're doing daily comics.) Schwarz drew until his death at 78. This is him at 77. He's wobbly but it's still aesthetically appealing; wobbly is preferable to flat and rigid which is what the Nanc4 looked like (even though Sluggo's cap also has some wiggling WOIM lines.) There are different ways to degrade and Schwarz did it gracefully.

This one is definitely on the easier difficulties but I suck at avoidances. It was interesting though because I usually am too distracted or have poor memory so I suck at the learning/pattern attacks but do pretty well at the RNG dodging ones, while in this fight it was pretty much the opposite, RNG attacks were quite hard to read, but there are only a couple of them.
Also, too much padding, it's understandable that a novice avoidance would have some nothing burgers to prevent it from being a constant barrage, but it's like 30 seconds in this one are literally nothing. Took me like 4-5 hours total I think, maybe 6.

>>8751>To think we never would have gotten the Act 3 intermission, if it weren't for someone else…Not only the Act 3 Intermission, but the entire involvement of Bec Noir in the plot.
I think in the original "plan" for Crash Bandicoot, the final villain was Betty Crocker (who may or may not have been the Condesce at that point). Which explains why the Condesce somehow broke away from Lord English with no real explanation in Act 6. So that the kids could have their final showdown with John's old archenemy, the Batterwitch. But then the Midnight Crew got put in the story leading to the Intermission, and Lord English who was supposed to be killed off at the end of said intermission got turned immortal after Hu¢¢ie connected him with Lord British. So the story took a massive detour but still had to end up at the final fight with the Condesce at the end.
No.9082
>>9080>but the entire involvement of Bec Noir in the plotNo, I doubt it. See the prototyped tentacles and Red Miles. It would have just been the Black Queen if not Jack, at most. And you can have some bullshit about the Black Queen being Betty Crocker considering the MUH ANCESTRAL CHUCKLEVOODOOS asspull. But Jack didn't have to be Jack- I think a rogue pawn would have still materialized without him having to be a mobster considering the difference between Spades Slick and Jack Noir. That division also kind of implies that too because Jr. is the master of "Having his cake and eating it too"
>Which explains why the Condesce somehow broke away from Lord English with no real explanation in Act 6.This seemed mostly like a contrivance to explain away the Void Session and "muh matriorb." It's all just a running tangent from the Ancestors which Hu¢¢ie couldn't give less of a shit about. It is a rare piece of intrigue which makes me think it was incidental and not planned. Her prominence mostly arises from "We need things to go wrong without it being Lord English or Bec Noir." It was wrapped abruptly because "muh roxy pathos" and "muh trolls pathos." Her fighting at the end is objectively
SMURFING stupid and pointless and while, yes, it is bad writing even if Crash Bandicoot^2 didn't exist, it's proof that Crash Bandicoot^2 wasn't always planned because The Condesce as an antagonist would make far too much sense and actually ground Jane as a secondary antagonist instead of just being a fat bitch who dies to Ultra Instinct Vriska because none of that shit mattered.

But I personally don't think that'd be satisfactory and the rogue pawn idea is interesting (when you actually lean into the idea that it's a videogame) and (should be) a parallel to John (it is sort of a residual idea in the comic as is.)
No.9089
"1-3 (In order of importance.)
(A- Primary to the idea of the comic and what seems to be the original authorial intent. B- Connecting ideas from the comic to outside ideas. C. Primarily ideas external to the comic that seemed useful in either conveyance or efficacy.)
1(A):
A videogame creation mythos.
Central importance of time travel including a past, present, future, and eternal version of self.
1(B):
An alchemy system that is central and fully interconnected to the rest of the game.
1(C):
An alchemy system that is “whole, capable of transformation, self-regulating, autonomous, and internally coherent.”
2 (A):
Synthesizing the biological motifs of the game to the technological ones.
Emphasize that this is the (sexual) reproduction of the universe.
Have the central mechanics of the game and story ultimately be about some radical reassertion of the self.
Have SBurb be the villain and ultimately be defeated by the end.
The use of alchemy as a form of self-discovery for the characters.
The Alpha kids are on the same Earth in a different session that helps create a new universe
The trolls affect the universe through their game but have no direct influence over the new session and just troll. There is no troll arc; it's another story.
2(B):
No (explicit) predestination.
Alchemy that is purely chronological, unrepeatable, irreversible, multilayered (Client-Player interaction), and requires cooperation (in set sequence.)
2(C):
Synchronicity would be the previous session affecting the unpredictability within alchemy and enantiodromia being prototyping affecting the enemies.
The Mythological Roles would be the Jungian archetypes and the story conforms to the Hero's Journey from John's perspective.
3(B):
Important items being “psychic constructs” to the characters that reinforce themselves through alchemy and thus become more “real.”
3(C):
McLuhan's medium theory applying to the game and Pesterchum.
~ATH (through Pesterchum) applying to the structuralist definition of a narrative, its bifurcated organization (time and “space”), and its contradictory relation to time by being both continuous and divided.
The Battlefield being steeped in multiple mathematical concepts and fields and displaying the dimensionality of games affecting their complexity.
The progression of the comic itself being analogous to the alchemical process of circulation with distillation of the character's selves leading to purification of those qualities being present."
What is written here is something I've had sitting around that I didn't think met the RIGOR and REASON of /hot/
If your question is
>Why?
It's because I thought it'd be interesting and there were glimpses of it in Crash Bandicoot proper (look at /hot/ for evidence.)
For simpler things like rogue Jack, every character having an arc, and Jaspers = Bec, take those for granted because I was focused on the intellectual aspects of the game element. These are loose ideas, too. I need to do more reading and thinking before I pitch how I'd do these things.

I wonder if there's any strategic advantage to pigtails. If a girl has long hair, it might make it harder for someone to grab it from behind if she's wearing tails to the sides. Ideally, someone in combat would want their hair short, but if that isn't an option, wearing it under something like a hat is best, and if a hat's not available, then pigtails might be an option worth considering. Braids that sit forward on the shoulder might be a good option too, but I think the speed, simplicity, and general effectiveness of pigtails might win out against other hairstyles in a combat situation
