>>5192This reminds me of this one conversation, I think I had on /v/ about different types of people and art which I guess will stick with me for my entire life. It was about Evangelion and the Rebuilds and I basically asked why one worked and the other didn't. The Anon said that Anno was an emotional and intuitive person and that when he was just working off expressing his emotions, he created something greater than the sum of its parts. When you ask him to consciously recreate a story with the same beats, he just can't do it.
I think

was the same way. I don't think Homestark would have been good if he didn't reach critical mass of annoyance with his peers and fans around Act 4-ish, but I do think it'd be better. I think a lot of Act 6 is "consciously trying to imitate what came intuitively before" and I think part of the inspiration for Caliborn came from that recognition that he was brute-forcing it.
I think I'm much the same way. It takes me awhile to adjust to criticism and I usually have my own reasons for eventually bending to it. "Something to think about."

The fact that one has a cartoony premise while the other is just YELLOWTOWN, U.S.A also seems to be go over people's heads. One pushed for ADULT CARTOONS while the other was a fairly insipid imitation of the increasingly common "dysfunctional family" set-up until the writers' room spread their wings. Also, man, SMURF Half Life for not leaning more into UFO mania/Area 51 intrigue despite alluding to it with stuff like G-Man.
Half Life 2 would have been so much more interesting if it was The Combine remnants barely keeping humanity in check as random species and phenomena keep popping up due to portal storms. Still a palpable dread but now there's a sense of paranoia as well. A much more unique setting than the fairly generic dystopia of 2. The Borg basically have everything under control (except for headcrab zombies and antlions in quarantine zones for ??? reasons- this is a pretty generic trope in dystopian fiction, I like to call this x-factor "the outlands™") and have a chain-of-command that goes up pretty high (Advisors.) It makes you wonder why "they're cut off from the main Combine" is even an element of the setting; maybe it's simply there for the resistance to feel feasible and the bad guys to still feel intimidating and have possible intrigue of BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS. On a side note, SMURF Valve for naming "antlions" after an actual bug, no creativity… Though this might be an oversight which would be very dumb.

Granted, I want it to be highly saturated and use a lot of primary colors which drags it into Cairo Overcoat range. I think this could be avoided if we use gray, a beige, and red to evoke flesh and steel and not technicolor artifacted PNG art.
Speaking of Pinhead, isn't it weird how there's no reference to Pinhead through Caliborn? Lord English is kind of a Pinhead-esque character in how he comes to be. A Lament Configuration Juju (or some equivalent) seems very, very Homestark. I'm just kind of surprised by the pop culture blindspot here. Then again, I don't think he watched SAW because then I'd think there'd be more indulgence in traps (besides the one obligatory sawed off leg) and Jigsaw's weirdo "you VVILL respect your life" cult incorporated somehow into the rationale of Lord English's cult.
Also, in general, I wonder if Hu¢¢ie ever intellectualized object-duality… I have never read the commentaries in full, you know.

This is unfortunately the best it gave me after a dozen or so gens. It really doesn't seem to understand what a sarcophagus is. It also doesn't get the specifics for Eddie right. It just knows he's a skeleton.
>Draw a forward-facing flying space sarcophagus with the head of Eddie from Megadeth's Rust In Peace with pins in his head like Pinhead and the standard outline of a skeletal body beneath it with crossed arms holding a zweihänder and a scythe with legs crossed like Jesus's below. Have the mold of the sarcophagus be that of the body like the sarcophagus of Nitocris. Have the pins be bright silver steel, the body a parchment beige, and the color of the edges be blood red. Have bright stars in the background; make it look like a 1960s comic book. Have speed lines and Kirby Crackle around the sarcophagus. Make the sarcophagus highly textured (like shrunken skin) and highly finished. Make it very long. Have the body meld into the sarcophagus; barely being convex to it.Here was my final proompt (denied); see if you know how to work AI brain to make it look like what I actually want.

FROM THE DESK OFROSE LALONDE
I might as well tell the story about what happened when I thought I was Jewish for a couple of days.
My mother got a faulty 23&Me result (I think she got someone else's results for some reason) that said she was one-quarter Jewish. This was a surprise to everyone, as she was always a full-blooded Frenchwoman (I'm half-French, half-Texan), so while it was odd to hear, I wasn't floored - I've always been something of a overly verbose, non-optimally neurotic wordcel myself - and this is supposed to come with some upsides, anyway.
I remembered hearing about the Law of Return, but only vaguely, like at the very least you could get a free trip to Israel on behalf of The Homeland, but you need to have a certain percentage of Jewish blood to qualify. I looked it up and learned that number is 25 percent, and since I was only one-eighth Jewish (or so I believed), I didn't qualify.
This really bummed me out - while I knew it was premature, I couldn't help but look forward to it as part of a new, strange, recently-unveiled facet of my life - so instead of giving up immediately, I spent some more time digging into it to see if there was something I overlooked, or discover a previously unknown angle to work. Alas, there was not. I gave up, went to bed, and got the news the test result was bunk and my mom was in fact 100% French two days later. The end.
"That's it?" That's it. Nothing happened, but it is an established, scientific fact that within 15 minutes of becoming aware of my own Jewishness (mistaken as it ultimately was), I devoted the majority of my attention to try to get something for free, and when I was told I couldn’t, continued digging for a legal loophole that would entitle me to get it for free anyway.

But it came to my attention that, for someone who writes a lot of monologues, Hu¢¢ie has never once wrote an interesting monologue. Entertaining? Sometimes. Interesting, insightful, or deftly written? Definitely not. Hu¢¢ie's prose is pretty terrible and suffers from being formulaic; long, run-on sentences that build off the previous sentences' syntax capped off by some indecisive summation or snippy snark. And when it comes to the actual topics themselves, Hu¢¢ie rarely has anything novel to say. The most novel things are his choice of topics which is probably 90% 中庸 in in-jokes. What he has to say about these topics is rather dull and he's usually pretty blunt whenever there's a chance to be subtle about things. Hu¢¢ie monologues are just about what you'd expect everyone to blabber on about if you forced any random person to talk at length about such an inexplicable topic. No.5674
>>5673It seems like, in the original at least, you just really shouldn't bother with job changing early outside of getting a sage or some VERY specific strategies. You mostly just end up with a slightly cooler version of whatever you switched to. The stats that carry over don't feel significant compared to what you get from leveling later in the game, and the jobs are also very very min-maxed, so the stats you got from A usually end up barely increasing at all on B.
My first plan was martial artist -> merchant -> warrior, in order to create a fighting merchant that could earn money to buy crazy gear once he's a warrior, but the money boost is really insignificant beyond the beginning of the game, and I lost pretty much all of it to a very hard boss anyways.
I also went with mage -> sage, and it is not clear to me if that one was the best choice. It'd probably be a fine choice if I didn't
SMURF with my physical attacker so hard? It seemed like a natural pick because there is basically zero downside to turning them into a sage, and the mage's downside of zero physical attack and defense is the biggest risk the party has. Like, the monk dude is pretty
SMURFING solid just as a monk.
I think the only strategies for early changes that really make sense are:
1) Turn a mage into a warrior or martial artist the second they get an attack buff, and make that their entire gimmick, then turn your warrior into a sage so they fill the mage role.
2) Swap your mage and monk, so you end up with cooler mage and cooler monk with basically no tradeoff apart
3) Merchant or Libertine for early sage and keep the rest of the party normal.
It feels like you have to approach the job changes as "you are picking your REAL job, and the job you started with is training bonuses for it", and trying to figure out how to approach that (or figure out that it works like that at all) on a first playthrough is hard.

A Christian summercamp fighting against an evil clown demon is very intriguing to me. It's hard for me to conceptualize "Christian superpowers" in a similar way to "Psi" that doesn't come off as completely insincere or farcical. My mind immediately goes to eclectic things like angel numbers.
I'd want it to be unabashedly Christian or at least seem that way to average person. I think the juxtaposition in itself is funny and it'd
pii22 off and gatekeep the right people. I think verses as spells, an angel number gimmick, and one kid doing "glossolalia" as a spell works (they're all from different sects and are a bit upset that they were sent to a generic BIBLE CAMP and that is how they bond despite their differences.)

The racial politics Ehud Barak outlined in recently leaked audio makes sense in the context of Epstein and Barak uniting against Netanyahu. Likud is primarily backed by Mizrahi Jews and they hold the majority of seats in Netanayhu's tarition. The importance of racial politics in Israel is not to be underestimated.
There's a lot of tension between Epstein and Likud. So Epstein and Barak were trying to fill Israel with even more Ashkenazi Soviet Jews to overpower the Mizrahi Jews who make up the majority of Bibi's tarition.
If you want to understand Epstein-Israel better, consider Russia’s desire for influence and control of Israel. Where they have significant influence through the Lubavitch network (which is hooked into Jared Kushner, Charles Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and Benjamin Netanyahu) they could obtain additional leverage and control through one of Netanyahu’s rivals, Ehud Barak.
Epstein sat at the intersection of those two networks and thus had hooks into multiple Israeli power factions. Epstein wasn’t working "for" Israel, but rather maintaining it as part of his portfolio, on Putin’s behalf.
As the evidence in the Epstein Files now shows overwhelmingly and conclusively that Epstein was advancing Russia’s influence agenda on multiple fronts, this becomes much more clear. Epstein had thousands of US contacts as well, but that doesn’t mean he was working for US interests. Indeed, he was not. If you look at what he was doing and ask "cui bono?," the answer is always Vladimir Putin and his global influence network.
Russian propagandists have leaned heavily on latent antisemitism for over a century to provide cover for their own activities. Filipp Bobkov developed modern 21st century strategies; they also backed Yasser Arafat and helped amplify Palestinian identity and grievances.
None of this is to provide cover to the Netanyahu regime's murderous actions in Gaza. But if you want to understand what Epstein was doing, it's necessary to put aside all of that and study this objectively. Epstein was working to exert influence in (at minimum) the US, Europe, and Israel. His "Israeli ties" are well explained by that objective alone.
One of the major risks we face now is societal epistemological meltdown over what Epstein was doing. The evidence, fortunately, is so overwhelming that the correct position – that he was primarily advancing Putin's interests – is difficult to argue with. However, the dead-ender position (that he was vaguely "working for Mossad" or "Israel") will be pumped up to be competitive.
Chabad and Epstein are part of a Russian influence campaign to increase post-Soviet Ashkenazi influence where necessary. Epstein wasn't really ideologically motivated - he was motived along racial sectarian lines. As Westerners, we discount the racial politics of foreigners and think ideology or political divides take primacy, when really the racial sectarianism sits atop ideology for most of the worlds population.
Epstein clearly was a Chabadnik, he recited the same Chasidic-Kabbalistic spirituality about goyim souls being animalistic instead of fully human, he got emails from the Aleph Institute and from Chabad rabbis seeking donations. His extensive political connections to Russia also speaks for itself.
Chabad, and Russian Jewry, are dedicated to increasing their market share in the racial politics of Israel and Jewry. Epstein was an emissary for that cause, and the picture is sharpening as more files are released. Chabad alignment within the US seems to go hand-in-hand with a barely concealed Duginism and Ashkenazi racial supremacism. Thiel's faction is lit up with Ashkenazi supremacists (Nick Land, Curtis Yarvin, Michael Millerman, etc.), Duginists, and even avowed Chabadniks.
People forget that Alexander Dugin is highly philosemitic, he just dislikes the Western "Trotskyist-Talmudists" and lauds the "Bolshevik-Kabbalists" of the East (this is Dugin's own framing of the conflict). This is why Chabad is given free reign in Russia, why Dugin publicly exclaims his love of Kabbalah and the minority rights of Jews in Russia, cofounded his Eurasia Party with a Kabbalah Orthodox Jew, etc.
Perhaps it's time to investigate Chabad Lubavitch World Headquarters in Brooklyn for its ties to Russia. These networks need to be mapped, finances traced and their funding and influence examined fully. - RL No.5778

It really is a pure 50/50 between FPS and MOBA. You can't have one without the other and you're playing largely against a playerbase that knows how to use the extensive movement mechanics to not get hit by shit and the game is pretty slow firing x low clip so believe me, I understand your pain here (and more.)

I only keep an eye on it because I consider myself a sort of watchdog of MOBAs and to a much lesser, extent hero shooters. I like seeing what they do and don't do and I don't think that (either) genre has reached the full potential. That leaves you with Abraham, Apollo (unreleased), Billy (who I think is fairly hard), Drifter, Lash, Shiv, Silver (half of the time), again, Viscous, and Yamato (who I know is really hard.)
>but everyone else seems to know THE META already and runs around super fast and dodges everything yeah.Bears repeating but it's terrible to release a game like this to a closed beta.
>you can fly freely on the coloured railsIf you didn't notice, you actually get locked out of grappling onto it for I think 5-3s(?) after taking damage so it's not as free as you think. It's the one change to the MOBA formula that I think is good, I had something like this in mind myself for theoretical MOBAs, and League currently has a similar system in place right now.
>The worst part of this game is how every character gets multiple dashes and unique movement abilities"It's what makes it a hero shooter." I think that, beyond the incredibly steep learning curve, it makes engagements very committal and roaming much less so. So what you end up with is a MOBA gameplay loop with very limited trading (especially because the item shop is right behind you and minions heal you) that's extremely teamfight heavy- even more than League. I would think you would want the opposite with a more MOBA hero shooter because death-by-a-thousand-cuts is pretty unique to shooters so it's a part of MOBAs you'd want to emphasize. Instead, it plays more like CS:GO where if you get randomly caught out, you die, and you have to do "tactics" with your teammates to actually accomplish anything other than catching out the one retard that doesn't know the game and killing them.

Now to talk about Homestark because it popped into my head.
I would say that the one clever thing Homestark did regarding the Alpha timeline is that the Alpha version of the game is non-functional in creating a new universe (even though it technically does because it destroys Earth and creates a bunch of planets in a vacuum… the planets, as a concept, never really made sense in the grand scheme of the creation mythos, did they?) It's baffling though, that that is the result of the Scratch which is expressly done for the purpose of the game being untenable- I had to look up if there was a reason why and it's there but confusing. Dirk and Roxy know about the game and the Condesce was trying to recreate the universe; why did none of them prototype or know about not prototyping dooming the session? So the thing I said about it being the Alpha of the game is untrue and so it's not very clever. I think the reason they're the Alpha kids is because Hu¢¢ie played for the Alpha trolls in some way and he wanted to do an irony.
I think Dirk and Roxy MIGHT have decided not to prototype (but if that was the reason, I'd need to reread it because I don't remember it even being implied) because they knew the Condesce was trying to use them but that doesn't explain why Jane or Jake didn't or why the Condesce did nothing.
Also, the game already predetermines if it's going to be a void session (yay, more predestination!) and they're quite common like uh, you know how most sperms don't fertilize the egg. But this makes zero
SMURFING sense when you zoom out and realize that either 1) There's no origin point of the game other than the game itself and it can only split (Scratch) once so it's bottlenecked and null sessions are pointless; every session should succeed because there are no independent origins 2) The game is fundamental or "emergent", at which the specifics of its existence as a game becomes questionable for a multitude of reason.
"Oh, what about the interplay of void sessions" Yes, what about it?

All of this could have been avoided if, again, it was revealed you needed to sessions to create a new universe and trolls were revealed to be in the same universe (you can keep them creating the planet; whatever) and needed to "copulate" to create a new universe. This weird in-between where it's both autonomous and (needlessly) divergent because of timelines does literally nothing for anything. Even from a story-telling perspective, it just creates plotholes. Predetermined doomed timelines (which you can presume include infinite Beta kids and Alpha trolls WHO CAN TIME TRAVEL to alternate timelines) that are obvious to the players is a can of worms.

But what's talked about here is the myriad of retcons, plotholes, and authorial influences that the greater fandom doesn't talk about because they've been memoryholed.

Your discussion culture is basically identical to the Homestuck Discord but slightly edgier and hornier. You're all newfags or terminally brain-damaged ritual posters. Get a clue.
If you want to talk about Homestuck, talk about Homestuck. And if you want constructive criticism/analysis of Homestuck specifically tailored to be unique (and also the hypnofag Lucas making like, two points and then dipping), look at /hot/. I used to be very active lurking /co/ and /v/ from 2017-2023 and would constantly make stealth threads. >I still think it lets you move around the map too freely, it's dumb how fast the lanes push back and forth. This is probably because you're not playing with anyone actually good. At this point, I'm convinced Tatsuya has forced himself to forget everything he learned in history class because he thought it was just propaganda. But this is unique even among "counter-narratives." I don't think any other Nazi or Holocaust denier would think this. This feels unique to him.
Also, the timeline here is completely
SMURFED up. Edward Śmigły-Rydz fled when the Germans and USSR attacked. He was not present for the Allies to influence him in any way. I know he has a negative reputation (mostly because he
SMURFED off to Romania) but this is an objectively wrong thing to criticize him over. Also, under the command of Edward Śmigły-Rydz, Poland went to war with the Soviets and persecuted communists which in Tatsuya's view is completely… le good! This is so stupid on so many levels.

How do chessbrains cope with mindgames essentially being RNG? At what point do mindgames evolve beyond essentially being RNG? I could read into game theory but…

This post isn't about that but I had to bring it up because it's slightly related.
I know I defended MOBAs the other day but yes, to some degree, the complexity is fake and there are delulus about you being SKILLED and STRATEGIC. But these are things that progressively get more real as you play with better players because they're safer and more consistent. Some delulus are more real than others and every game with multiplayer relies on some kind of delulu about skill that is essentially just mind games and maximizing APM to maximize the number of mind games. The FPS delulu revolves around strafing and aiming. You can talk to me all you want about human reaction times but we both know that it's not going to be consistent when it's in a situation more complex than clicking a button. So the main delulu surrounds aiming and dodging. You tend to aim where someone is going and dodge where you think they won't be aiming- the latter is more inconsistent when you break the pattern (specifically, doubling back when they try to aim in a direction you're heading) for a number of reasons but aiming and dodging is still basically a mind game RNG delulu. Reaction time into APM is the main deciding factor in whether or not you succeed.
Singleplayer games also have delulus but those are manufactured and not emergent from having to interact with the gay, retarded human mind.
I think Tekken is the best series for talking about the multiplayer delulu. So many of the highest competitive games have been decided (or at least influenced) by people going for unsafe or inconsistent things because they're unexpected.
The main point is that getting incredibly granular about skill in multiplayer games is silly because there are things that are effectively random (that only become borderline irrelevant at the highest levels of play) because they're designed to feel good. A game that was 100% skill with no delulu would not be fun. That's a "click the button faster" game. Every game is kind of that but the delulu is the flavor, the life added to that.
I could get into DotA 2's delulu spice vs. League's but that might spiral into its own thing.
