I generally liked the performances and gimmicks. BUT (1)

The ending is darkly humorous if it's implying what I thought it was (sorry, I'm woozy, tired, and PIBBED up so I might be wrong.. I had half a Tornado in a vain attempt to keep my dad from drinking but woops, that doesn't stop an alcoholic and he got 3(ish) refills. I ended up passing out while waiting the movie because we walked 3~ miles after I stayed up all night. This is at least a good method of making alcoholics more tolerable (sometimes.))
Cons:
(1): This should have been an outright farce. Full Leslie Nelson. Fuck all the Movieisms™. Static, close shots, quick cuts, visual gags, NO FUCKING BLURS. I think there was some visual humor lost from how the film was shit.
Have the old guy become a cartoon character and be jumping around and do a bunch of physical comedy. Like, straight Loony Tunes Elmer Fudd. Have Adam Warlock Miller get superhuman capabilities after snorting unicorn horn dust (who they gave the most screentime because they know he's a funny.)
MCU theory. James Gunn Adam Warlock will have an arc where he becomes The Living Tribunal in a butchered adaptation of a butcherjob of a story and the real Adam Warlock will come from the F4 universe after it merges.Have the unicorns just look like normal dainty horses with horns instead of vaguely (not) scary.
It was enjoyable as far as RICH PEOPLE MAKE FUN OF HOW RICH PEOPLE SUCK movies go but I'm just so fucking sick of how movies are made now, this A24 shit. Everything goes to waste on this alter of "alt" filmmaking.
(2): Generally bad for gorehounds. Very obvious CGI in general but nothing really felt visceral. 7/10 (blood too dark- this is an actual problem btw.)
(3): Some of them were Movieisms™. I don't want to say "Marvel humor" but I don't know want to coin here other than humor that isn't subtle that doesn't exactly push the line of absurdity. It's not even about being lowbrow- it's just about segmenting up your movie scenes into "JOKE LINE" instead of having a cohesive tone. (This movie, along many of its A24 ilk does not have that.)

He deliberately chose a style that'd allow him to draw as little and as simply as possible and most exceptions to that were very bad. Even his ability to toon decreased over the years.
If Hu¢¢ie had any legitimate, serious artistic ambitions he gave up on it very quickly (and maybe twice if we count the straight-up failure of the Starlight Calliope- which was shit, received zero fanfare, and was quietly discontinued after 1.5 issues), think Act 3, and used his remaining talent for very egocentric and pathetic reasons (making his inner circlejerk of friends laugh- eventually both at the comic AND the fanbase) which has personally been MY working theory.
He was irony poisoned and he was shit. But he was also, at least, initially talented and I don't think it was due to any gumption or ambition on his end. I think daddy just took him under his wing. Technique is easily lost, genius, ambition, creativity isn't. I'm to believe that Hu¢¢ie is someone with a lot more practice than innate skill. That's why he can create things that have no real redeeming value. Somebody with true TALENT doesn't do that; there's at least some sort of flair or individuality or spark of life to it. There's so much about Hu¢¢ie's corpus of work that you can't say that about. I think this applies both to his literal art but more importantly and especially, his writing.
