I want to make a mental note of a type of writing style I'd like to call "lorebaiting" where something is neither subtle enough to require critical thinking to come to the conclusions the author wants you to make about nor obvious enough for it to have any really pathos (in-universe mainly but out of it too.)
Let's just say it's the kind of writing style to make children feel smart and manchildren cry. I've written a lot about "…"-tier writing but I forgot my other buzzwords for describing it.
