There's this whole thing about them being passive and blah blah lacking character but the plots are low stakes and dream-like anyway. You might say it's boring, I'd just say it's a different affect.
My favorite Disney movies are Alice In Wonderland, Peter Pan (entirely due to their source materials- I think I was scared of the crocodile and thought Captain Hook's fate was "too mean" because I was sensitive lad), and The Incredibles (big surprise) because it wasn't (directly)

I generally have a low opinion of the melodramatic "golden age." I think I just outright fucking hate the Lion King. Give me a fun adventure romp or a real fairytale; anything in-between is fucking gay.

That being said, early Homestuck did look quite nice and there were some pretty pictures in Act 5 Act 2. I wouldn't call them LE GENIUS or post the Reddit retard Gif because both early Homestuck and Act 5 2 had their fair share of "fucking hideous or otherwise questionable art decisions" such as tiny, shitty lines or the morbid stylization that is bad!Hussnasty.
