I could go on about how weirdly mishandled I think the MCU's take on Spiderman was (in part because they knew how much the expectations of the Raimi movies would have.)
Like, why introduce M.J but have her not technically be Mary Jane, the fuck kind of Mystery Box writing is that?
But I know people would give a negative shit about that. Hell, even I barely fucking care about the MCU and I'm a "Marvel sperg." It's not "superhero fatigure", it's "these aren't good movies and what they're building up to doesn't feel fun, it feels contrived."
Let's be real, if they were competently made action romps that felt fun, people would keep coming to the theaters, like in the 80s. Don't tell me people unironically get tired of CONSOOMING in CURRENT FUCKING YEAR if it's not actual dogshit because you're deluding yourself (and sometimes BRAND is strong enough to wash down dogshit like with Star Wars.)
I was so anti-MCU that I was pleasantly surprised by Infinity War (which is universally agreed to be the whole shebang's Swan Song) with Endgame feeling like especially sloppy seconds.

It's crazy how horror games haven't learned from Amnesia with how its sanity systems works as an alternative lose condition when you aren't making strictly measured progress so there are constantly stakes and scares and you can't just endlessly faff about, dicking around the enemies. It would be a perfect addition to any sort of survival horror game. Instead, any game roughly like Amnesia chose procedural generation where a system like that is, while not impossible, much harder and more costly to implement well and let's be real, I don't think I've seen a procedurally generated game with a sanity system like Amnesia so I don't think exist. Minecraft had such an insidious effect on basically all videogames because it made game devs open their eyes and latch onto procedural generation as "wow cool new tech" and haven't stopped suckling its teats yet. That's not necessarily to bemoan all of the games that are built around procedural generation like roguelites (though Minecraft can certainly be partially accredited to their popularization) but to the endless subgenres in indie games that use it as a crutch for its novelty in retaining attention relative to development time.
Also, yeah, Slender did, for five minutes make every game being about collecting a handful of things on an open map with an obscure monster that progressively becomes more aggressive. Everyone knows that but it's worth noting that really, none of the big horror games really had much of an impact on the genre. Try thinking of noteworthy indie/smaller survival horror games in the past 20 years. You can't, really. Horror games, as a genre, were largely just influenced by industry-wide trends despite their sacred cows and it's a bit perplexing WHY exactly.
